Registered Dental Assistant Expanded Functions II Orthodontic Assistant

Wendi is a seasoned dental professional with over 14 years of experience in the field. She began her career in the orthodontic department, where she developed a keen eye for detail and an interest in helping patients achieve great smiles. She’s also taken extensive course training and got her Orthodontic Assistant certificate, or OA, from the Dental Board.

After seven years in orthodontics, Wendi changed gears and started to work in general dentistry. After a few years working chairside in general dentistry, she decided to get her Expanded Functional license in 2021. This certification allows her to perform many advanced dental functions, such as placing fillings, taking impressions for crowns and seating them, and many other procedures the dental board won’t allow a Registered Dental Assistant to do. She’s a perfectionist and puts patient care and comfort first.

Outside of work, Wendi enjoys spending time with her family. She loves the outdoors and nature. With her husband, son, and dogs, she loves hiking, camping, and anything with fresh air. As much as she loves the technical aspects of dentistry, she is great at getting to know her patients personally and taking care of their needs.
